Detroit Skyline View from Belle Isle #75

The artwork titled “View of the Detroit skyline from Belle Isle 2005,” offers a captivating depiction of Detroit as seen from the iconic Belle Isle.  Belle Isle is a unique urban park, the largest city-owned island park in the United States, situated on the Detroit River between Michigan and Canada.

The island, originally named Île aux Cochons (Hog Island) by French colonists in the 18th century, was renamed Belle Isle in 1845 during a historic picnic in honor of Miss Isabelle Cass, the daughter of then Governor Lewis Cass. The MacArthur Bridge, commonly known as the Belle Isle Bridge, connects Detroit to Belle Isle. It features 19 arches and serves as a significant landmark. Belle Isle is also notable for being one of the few places where Canada is south of the United States.

Mini-Prints are archive-quality giclée prints, matted to 5″ x 7″, with a certificate of authenticity on the back of the card hand-initialed by the artist in silver ink.   $35 each. Gift wrapping with a tiny art gift card is available.
