The Legend

In early 2018, Superior Street in Albion, Michigan, was bustling with new developments and restored landmarks. The newly rebricked main street now features the Courtyard by Marriott Hotel, which opened its doors in February 2018. Authentic street lighting enhances the charm of the downtown area, highlighting its historical significance.
New establishments were popping up alongside beloved local favorites. The Malleable Brewery, located on the south end of town, was scheduled to open in the spring of 2018, adding to Albion’s vibrant community. The Ludington Center, a versatile space for college and community interactions, and Stirling Books & Brew, a bookstore coffee shop open seven days a week, were also notable additions.
Long-standing Albion favorites like Cascarelli’s and the Bohm Theatre, a fully restored movie palace, continued to draw visitors and locals alike. The summer of 2017 was marked by extensive downtown construction, but by 2018, Albion was proudly moving forward with a blend of restoration and new projects. This multi-media photo/art piece by Maggie LaNoue captures the essence of a town embracing its present, past and future.
